Obama laid out the blueprint for Black presidential candidates, and both Kamala and Cory are trying to execute on it. But I’m tired of inauthentic diversity.

Finding the energy to create these methods may be exhausting in itself, but it can be done as long as we remember that we are not bionic.
Fixating on the difference between others who "put on" our culture & those who create from "authentic" experiences obscures why we challenge appropriation in the first place.
Burning bridges keeps whatever is marching on it away from you and yours. It is a form of protection and a moment that belongs to you, victoriously.
Why are Black folks only ever allowed to carry what we need, even in death? How are we hoarders if we never get what we need?
By recognizing the unwritten rules and expectations for what they are, we can better navigate these spaces or leave them altogether to build our own.
He knows he can ruin poor Black folks lives, and then just retreat into his money with no guilty conscience. A monster.
